Spitting on Sacred Ground: How Ultra-Orthodox Jews Are Terrorizing Christians in Jerusalem

Christian pilgrims walking Jerusalem’s holy sites are being spat on, cursed, and harassed by extremist ultra-Orthodox Jews—and Israeli authorities are letting it happen. Videos show black-clad men deliberately targeting priests and tourists along the Via Dolorosa, the path Jesus walked to crucifixion. The attacks, rooted in a radical Talmudic belief that Christians are "idolaters," have become so frequent that clergy now warn visitors: "Wear a hat to avoid spit."

Despite outcry from global church leaders, Israel’s police barely intervene—afraid to anger the ultra-Orthodox political parties propping up Netanyahu’s government. The message? In today’s Jerusalem, hate is holy—and the law looks away.
